COMPARATIVE STUDY ON REGENERATIVE AND ORGANOGENETIC CAPABILITY OF SEQUOIA SP. L. EXPLANTS COLLECTED FROM DIFFERENT AREAS OF VITROPLANTULAE. In this study we looked at the growth speed of Sequoia sp. L. plantlets cultured „in vitro”, which were taken from different zones of mother plantlet and cultured on modified Murashige&Skoog media, without growth regulators. This experiment has used minicuttings consisted in apexes, other caulinar fragments, and basal buds, taken from an old Sequoia sp. L. „in vitro” culture, as biological material. The experiment, which lasted for 60 days, has brought forth the following conclusions: the apexes manifested the highest growth rate; the most branches was obtained from basal buds; callus production was observed, even though the growth regulators were missing; each part of Sequoia sp. L. plantlet can be used as explant for micropropagation.
