THE STUDY OF LOCAL POPULATIONS OF CEREALS FROM WESTERN ROMANIA. The cultivation of cereals is one of the eldest agricultural crop-type in the human history, sustained with facts this way already since 3,000 B.C.This crops are especially important, because they represent the daily source of food for humanity. That is why in this paper I will introduce to You the importance of the wheat culture, referring especially to Triticum monococcum (spelt [wheat] or bearded/German wheat) and to the main varieties of wheat cultivated in the western region of Romania.
